TTB Shutdown

by | Oct 3, 2013 | alcohol beverage law

Due to the government shutdown, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) will temporarily be closed.

What does that mean for those in the alcohol beverage industry? Here is a list of what TTB functions will remain accessible during the shutdown and which functions will be suspended.

ACCESSIBLE SERVICES:

-The TTB website, though it will not be updated during the shutdown;

-You may still file electronic payments and returns for federal excise taxes and operational reports.

SUSPENDED SERVICES:

-No access to TTB applications, such as permits online, formulas online, and COLAs online;

-No TTB personnel will be available to answer questions, online or over the phone;

-No TTB employees will be working during the shutdown, so no approvals.

According to the TTB website, once the government shutdown is over regular operations will resume as soon as possible.
